"We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them."-- Albert Einstein (1879-1955)
In January 2004, Liberty Power approved the start-up of the Liberty Power Foundation for the advancement of education in the communities where our customers live and work. The Liberty Power Foundation is a tax-exempt charitable organization. We are a public charity that is funded through the generosity of our customers and through Liberty Power Corp.
The concept of the Liberty Power Foundation was born out of the company's recognition that non-traditional educational programs can spark the interest of young minds, break down barriers to learning about math and science, and create a path to continued success in these subjects. Our goal is to help programs that want to change the minds of those kids that say, "I'm no good at math" or, "Science is boring" because at Liberty Power we depend on math and science everyday to ensure electricity flows safely to our customers.
The Liberty Power Foundation's purpose is to sponsor and promote existing non-profit programs that encourage the interest of children and young adults in math and science. Any such program that exists in the District of Columbia, New York, Maryland, or Texas is encouraged to contact the Liberty Power Foundation to apply for sponsorship. Example programs may be science fairs and math/science summer camps.
